Time to Stay Inside and Make Something Pink…

Summer has arrived bringing with her with a hot Texas sun!  Time to make a pitcher of lemonade…Pink, of course, and work on indoor projects. Today I’m showing one of my Pocketful of Memories books…. This one has four pockets and it’s  filled with lots of pretty Pinks.  The book has a Ticket Theme…The cover has a few buttons, some peachy-pink flowers and flowered tissue covering some vintage dictionary pages.

It started with a small children’s book, some pretty tissue, and four inspirational embellished tags. Inside there are four “pockets” that are perfect for holding the tags. They were punched with a sweet border punch…then they were inked and tied with vintage seam binding and other fibers.

Glittered scrapbook flowers add more Pink to the pockets and the tags. The tags encourage us to “Fly” and “Dream” while giving us  admission to La La Land and Wonderland…

It looks so cute when all the tags are in place…

Now, wasn’t that cooling and refreshing? Yep! I may stay indoors making cute little Pink books until September!!! Today is perfect for Pink Saturday visits, so head over to Beverly’s How Sweet The Sound  for the list of today’s participants.  She’s been busy getting the list together.

Last Saturday I had a visit from Kathy at A Delightsome Life… She has lots of great Pinks to share and lots of comings and goings-on…Stop in and Say “Hi”. she might just have a cup of tea waiting for you.

I’ll be celebrating the Grand Opening  of  The Gruene Flour Cupcakery in their new location…I hear they’ve added cookies to the menu! and new cupcake flavors! Oh, it’s going to be a great sugar-high Pink Saturday! Check them out if you’re in town for Gruene Market Days .

Hi Laverne,

I guess you are still making some of those PC art journals. It looks good. :) Have you recovered from the retreat?? I've been super busy. I think it just recharged my battery. LOL

Show and Tell Sunday June 15

Flea Market Finds...sounds like my whole house and yard...

Milk Glass Collection

Milk Glass Collection
Who knew that a 25 cent flea market find would unleash such a collecting frenzy? I never pay more than a dollar unless it's a really nice piece. They are great grouped with a single daisy in each.

These used to be inexpensive florist vases in the 50's and 60's. Everyone's Grandmother had bunches.

Mexicana Dishes

Mexicana Dishes
My sister found these for me at Bussy's Flea Market in San Antonio, Texas. I had seen pictures in her Fiesta reference book. Mexicana was also made by Homer Laughlin in the 30's. I had been looking for several years without ever finding even a single piece when she found the set...with a promise to hold it for us, she came running to find me and I bought the entire set...60+ pieces for $50.

I've added to the set over the years, but the price and experience will never match that first amazing find.

Vintage Kitchen Hutch

Vintage Kitchen Hutch
When my hubby found this hutch it was Pepto pink and I was not 100% sure about it. But with a new red back and fresh white paint and refurbished hardware, it became one of my favorite pieces.

Nancy made me save the vine

Nancy made me save the vine
The vine and flowers painted on the inside were in such bad shape that I was ready to remove it all. Nancy -My Crafty Little Page convinced me to keep it and after some touch-up work, I'm glad I listened to her. My husband restores vintage Cushman motorscooters and he tries to make everything "mint" condition again. The Shabby Chic movement came along just in time to keep me from making some terrible mistakes.
