Woo Hoo We're in the PINK in a Big Texas Way!!!

Unless you're a long time Yankees fan (like I usually am) You can enjoy the story of an underdog Texas team that took on the giant and won...Yup! The Texas Rangers are in the World Series... Texas and the World Series...it still sounds like the punch line to a sportscaster's joke...but it's true...Look at the celebration...winners falling all over each like happy puppies...

Rangers win...hot dang!

This is probably what I love most about baseball...grown men still playing their boyhood game with the gusto of kids...and of course, the sports Cinderella stories about players who had been counted out but end up saving the day... Baseball in Texas in October...Yahoo! How PINK is that?  If PINK is an attitude, look at what pink looks like on the face of Nolan Ryan...Yup, a pennant for his Texas team...can we even imagine what that trophy must feel like in his arms?

Rangers win...hot dang 3

Mike wants him to run for Governor...Nolan is reserved compared to Ron Washington...talk about being in the PINK...

rangers win...hot dang! 2

Well, I'm getting all emotional again...time to head over to Beverly's How Sweet the Sound for our weekly dose of all things pink... http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog

I'll spend the week with a stupid grin on my face...a World Series in Texas!!!

Even I'm excited about the Rangers. I don't even know the other team I'm so not into baseball. Maybe it will spark an interest somewhere in my inner being. I think Jeff and Quentin got a recessive gene!!! xoxo Nancy

Happy Pink Saturday, LaVerne! We were cheering for Texas, too. I really don't care for the Yankees.....they've had their glory moments plenty of times!!!

Wish I was still there to see this! We happened upon a team with Rangers all over their gear in San Jose on Sunday night at the airport. We took pics for my Texas BFF, but they were a hockey team from Boston. What do we know? HA!!! We even lived in Texas longer than anywhere else and went to a Rangers game. That whole Giants thing mixed us up...LOL!

I'm still visiting around PS posts. Have a wonderful week!

They are still spotted at this time.

Show and Tell Sunday June 15

Flea Market Finds...sounds like my whole house and yard...

Milk Glass Collection

Milk Glass Collection
Who knew that a 25 cent flea market find would unleash such a collecting frenzy? I never pay more than a dollar unless it's a really nice piece. They are great grouped with a single daisy in each.

These used to be inexpensive florist vases in the 50's and 60's. Everyone's Grandmother had bunches.

Mexicana Dishes

Mexicana Dishes
My sister found these for me at Bussy's Flea Market in San Antonio, Texas. I had seen pictures in her Fiesta reference book. Mexicana was also made by Homer Laughlin in the 30's. I had been looking for several years without ever finding even a single piece when she found the set...with a promise to hold it for us, she came running to find me and I bought the entire set...60+ pieces for $50.

I've added to the set over the years, but the price and experience will never match that first amazing find.

Vintage Kitchen Hutch

Vintage Kitchen Hutch
When my hubby found this hutch it was Pepto pink and I was not 100% sure about it. But with a new red back and fresh white paint and refurbished hardware, it became one of my favorite pieces.

Nancy made me save the vine

Nancy made me save the vine
The vine and flowers painted on the inside were in such bad shape that I was ready to remove it all. Nancy -My Crafty Little Page convinced me to keep it and after some touch-up work, I'm glad I listened to her. My husband restores vintage Cushman motorscooters and he tries to make everything "mint" condition again. The Shabby Chic movement came along just in time to keep me from making some terrible mistakes.
