I wish you could take a deep breath and smell the beauty this morning…You might first think that it’s the pink Mandevilla blossoms that are producing the sweetness…
but if you follow your nose, you’ll realize that the air is being perfumed by the Gardenias…They are heavenly.
Aren’t they beautiful…an old Southern favorite to be sure. As a young girl we lived in McAllen, Texas, and I had a Gardenia outside my bedroom window. Of course, we didn’t have air conditioning back in the day…our homes were built for cross ventilation and so I fell asleep and woke to that heavenly aroma for a couple of months during the summer. I’ve been pouring the Green Light Super Bloom to this flower bed and I hope it is in full bloom when our son brings his new bride for a visit. She loves flowers and I would love to be able to arrange an old fashioned cut glass vase of these beauties for her to enjoy as she drifts off to sleep.

Gorgeous, LaVerne. I "scent" remember those gardenias in McAllen. It's still my favorite scent and it was like being in the Garden of Eden...and the orange blossoms fragrancing the air...and whatever that "tea" smell was that signaled it was the perfect beach day.

Gardenias do smell so sweet. A friend of mama grows them and when the tree bloomed, she fives as a bunch of the flowers.
