I’ve missed posting for several months of Pink Saturdays…I’ve been “lurking” on the sidelines visiting but rarely commenting…so this Saturday I’m stepping out of the Internet shadows and posting again. While I’ve been out of touch, I have not been idle. One of my projects was this altered book that I repurposed. I layered pearls, shells, and old jewelry pieces on the front. It looks like a beachcombers dream.
When I make a Pocket Journal, I fold the interior pages to create pockets…
The pockets hold pictures and tags. This book was a discarded library book about Starfish. It was from the 60’s and the colors were primarily browns. I added strips of recycled tissues in shades of aqua and purples. It’s not exactly Pink, but the purples are a close cousin so I’m posting this book today.
I love making the tags…
They are stamped and tied with fibers and tiny shells…
Adding the details to the tags is really fun…
It’s fun to go through my stashes of ephemera and yarns and beads and bits and then actually use some of that Junque!
Now to post this and start visiting my old favorites again. My very favorite, of course, is Beverly at How Sweet the Sound Thanks so much for stopping by…drop a line and I’ll pay you a blog visit.

I missed a few weeks myself but it's goood to be back with Pink Saturday.
LOVE your altered book, it's really amazing and the colors .. love them too. Purple one of my favorites.
You use your talent very well. Really enjoyed seeing all your goodies.
Oh my - wouldn't that be a fun project to do with my grandkids for a volcano project or with my senior mom to save our special memories goodies. I'll have to try to figure out how you make pockets out of the pages by folding down. Looks very intriguing. Thank you for a fun visit for Pink Saturday.
Hello LaVerne. i would have know this was your work because of the darling pockets. You gave me the idea to make pockets when we did our journals. This is gorgeous. You are so creative. A wonderful creation as always.

LaVerne, that is an awesome "pocket" book you made! I love it! You commented on my blog that you love the gardening magazines and sketch fantasy gardens. Great minds think alike, I guess! Dream on!
Beautiful creations!
Happy Pink!
Enjoy a great day.
Those are beautiful!
Hopping from Pink Saturday.
