Last weekend a group of long time friends gathered in Mission, Texas, for a wonderful retreat. Come through the gate where the pink Bouganvilla are blooming…
And choose a path to follow…
You can start in the courtyard and follow the Fountain Trail…
It heads out through the brush…clumps of Prickly Pear Cactus line the trail…the red mulch looks pink and inviting in the gray light of early morning…
I look down at my choice of shoes for the day…
No rugged path through the Mesquite trees for me today. My flip-flop Clarks won’t do much to protect my bare pink toes…the next trail is even worse…
It winds beside an abandoned camp site… This seems more appropriate…
Yes! This path is perfect…
If you’ve never wandered through a labyrinth, you’re missing a calming, quiet, very pink experience. I didn’t have a solitary walk… there were birds everywhere at El Rocio…the area is a bird watcher’s heaven.
I decided to slip inside this sweet pink Hobbit house where I could watch the birds through the window…
Isn’t it cute? Built in the 1980’s the buildings are very organic and many walls incorporate actual rough-hewn trees.
Pink details were everywhere…like this terra cotta cross embedded in the wall.
November is the perfect month for a retreat…Reflection and renewal before the rush and rapid pace of the holidays. Just like our weekly visits with the Pink around us. Thank you, Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting our weekly Pink retreat where we can step into our beautiful pink Blogland and recharge our batteries with all things pink and beautiful. Leave a comment and I’ll return the visit.

I love Bouganvilla - even with the thorns - and that Hobbit house is so cute! I couldn't help imagining what sort of vintage lace curtains I would put on the windows! Thanks for sharing!

Such pretty eye candy for my left brain or is it right brain??? I wish we'd had time to go on a nature walk. Your pictures of the mushroom/hobbit house came out great. I wish I was sitting in the Hobbit house meditating on a piece of grapefruit pie right now. It was such a fun trip and thanks to you guys for making me bring the churches home! xoxo Nancy
Beautiful post!
love,
Shirley
What a great place, LaVerne. I'm sure it was a renewing experience for all of you gals. I am glad you chose to take the right path. . . the one that protected those sweet PINK piggies!
Have a great PSat!!! L, Dana
Simply beautiful!
My Pink, have a nice weekend!
Good Morning Laverne Sweetie...
Oh what a gorgeous share today. I love going along on your retreat today. What a fun experience, I have always wanted to walk a labrynith. What a wonderful way to cleanse your soul and mind.
You chose a beautiful path following right on up to the Hobbit house. Now how fun is that. I love watching the birds and I bet you had a bird's eye view from this house.
Oh and Laverne, I love those Clarke sandals too. They are just darling. Love my sandals and here in the desert of Phoenix, I am still wearing mine.
Have a gorgeous weekend. Thank you again for sharing today. I so enjoyed my visit. Country hugs and much love, Sherry
