Well, if Pink Saturday has taught us anything, it probably is that everything is sweeter with a shot of pink…I was going through some pictures of crafts that I had done a few years ago and I found these…This first church stands just over a foot tall…
It and the little Nativity set were made in Mexico. The Nativity set was already pink when I bought it in one of my favorite shops and I painted a plain terra cotta mission-style church to match. It sold at Wimberley and is now part of the holiday season for one of our Pink-soul sisters … I wonder if she sings “I’m dreaming of a Pink Christmas” while she decorates each year. Another Pink church went to some little girl’s bedroom…

I sorta miss painting these mini-missions, but shopping trips into the Mexico border towns are so uncertain right now that I’ll wait until I feel more comfortable shopping in the markets again. It’s too hot to visit Mexico right now anyway. We should stay indoors and visit our blog friends. Hi LaVerne. I'm replying back to your comment on my blog. I didn't know that the girls family pays for the dresses. I guess I always assumed the city took the bill. Wow!! That is some extensive beadwork... you are right.. the family HAVE to have deep pockets! It's so nice to see you live in NB. We love Red Rooster Antiques. Do you ever go there?
I wish you still had the pink one - it's gorgeous. What a shame our border is such a dangerous mess.

Good Morning, LaVerne! I tried to leave you a comment yesterday morning. I had spent the night before at my son's house and was using his laptop.....AND it wouldn't let me me publish my comment.....that rotten little computer. Anyway, I was gone or busy for the rest of the day/night....this is my first chance to get back with you and wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope you will eat one of those choc. cupcakes for me!! I LOVED seeing the photos of the little clay missions you painted!! They are wonderful. I am so sad, however, that visiting border towns is so dangerous. The situation just gets worse and worse. . . will our government EVER totally address it?
