Pink Pyrex for Pink Saturday

I stopped in at a moving sale Friday morning and found the prettiest pink Pyrex  2 qt. casserole with a metal stand. I don’t know if it ever had a lid…probably not…I don’t recall ever seeing a square or rectangular lid on Pyrex dishes.

I love the design…not flowers or really any theme.

When I brought it home, hubby seemed surprisingly interested in what I had found… he thinks it would be perfect for his favorite hot artichoke dip…

I was pleased that it matches another pink find, a small Pyrex bowl…

I love my bright  Homer Laughlin Mexicana dishes and the Fiesta colored Rivera pieces I have, but lately I’ve been pulled toward the pink tones… not just in the kitchen and in the garden but also in my closet…lots more pink than I have ever worn before…I really enjoy this weekly dose so I’m off to make the rounds. Pink is an Attitude

Last year just before Christmas I snapped this picture at our town’s German style Weihnachtsmarkt which is our version of the Christmas seasonal night fairs. I loved these pink necklaces…

“Pink is a state of mind.” So true…

That expression came to mind as I recalled Pink Moments during the last week…meals organized for a dear sorority sister who is recovering from back surgery…happy birthday cards and calls from my friends… a lovely note from my favorite aunt… a celebration lunch at a new restaurant… and Pinkest of all:  watching my year-long C.A.S.A. case  come to an emotional end with the happiest  adoption you could ever imagine.

Pink is a state of mind…it’s our state of mind when we pause and realize how many reasons we have to be thankful and to feel blessed and to look at how rich our lives are…Beverly’s Pink Saturday invitation does that for me every week when I take time to put myself in a Pink State of Mind…Stop by to say “Hi”

Who knew that a 25 cent flea market find would unleash such a collecting frenzy? I never pay more than a dollar unless it's a really nice piece. They are great grouped with a single daisy in each.

These used to be inexpensive florist vases in the 50's and 60's. Everyone's Grandmother had bunches.

My sister found these for me at Bussy's Flea Market in San Antonio, Texas. I had seen pictures in her Fiesta reference book. Mexicana was also made by Homer Laughlin in the 30's. I had been looking for several years without ever finding even a single piece when she found the set...with a promise to hold it for us, she came running to find me and I bought the entire set...60+ pieces for $50.

I've added to the set over the years, but the price and experience will never match that first amazing find.

When my hubby found this hutch it was Pepto pink and I was not 100% sure about it. But with a new red back and fresh white paint and refurbished hardware, it became one of my favorite pieces.

The vine and flowers painted on the inside were in such bad shape that I was ready to remove it all. Nancy -My Crafty Little Page convinced me to keep it and after some touch-up work, I'm glad I listened to her. My husband restores vintage Cushman motorscooters and he tries to make everything "mint" condition again. The Shabby Chic movement came along just in time to keep me from making some terrible mistakes.
